This illustration was based on the moment strangers gather up and stand by like in a group photo, while waiting for the green light. One of the goals was to show the spontaneous poses, and different expressions, which can make the scene look more natural than an actual family picture. Also, drawing urban elements that form interesting shapes like trees with signs branching out, helped add the sense of randomness and show that random things can accidentally shape into nice compositions.
